Special Events
We need not walk alone. We are The Compassionate Friends.
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but
rather openings where our loved ones shine
down to let us know they are happy.

Angels Across the USA
Tour 2013
Featuring Alan Pederson

Tuesday August 20, 2013
7pm
*This replaces the regular Tuesday meeting in Portland
Alan Pedersen is a bereaved father, award winning songwriter, successful recording artist,
and nationally recognized speaker on grief and loss.In August of 2001 Alan’s only daughter
Ashley was killed in an automobile accident in Colorado. This tragedy took his life in a
direction he never imagined. His pain and journey toward finding joy again have been the
subject matter for four highly acclaimed CD’s of original songs.

Alan’s message is simple,
“We were put on this earth to love them for as long as WE live,
not for as long as THEY lived.”
He believes that healing comes slow, but does come as
we reach out to others who share this journey and offer our hand to help.

Dr. Gloria Horsley Ph.D., President of Open to Hope Foundation, and Host of Healing the
Grieving Heart Radio Program says: “Alan’s music and message are a light in the darkness
to those going through grief and loss. His message is one of hope, his humor puts you at
ease, his music is powerful and helps us remember those we have loved who have died”.
In 2008 Denise Pederson became a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief
Recovery Institute based in Sherman Oaks, CA (www.grief.net). It's not only her
certification that qualifies Denise to help others, it's the fact that Denise had the courage to
walk up to her grief, acknowledge it, learn from it and then share her knowledge with
others
Please join us for an evening of music, sweet memories & smiles!
